I heard about this really smart/educated and really good man who died and came back to life during a surgery.

He said that when he was dead, extremely difficult equasions came to him with easy. All the knowledge in the world was right in front of him.

He said, it is not what we know that is most important, but how we have treated others and how much love we have for others that will matter when we die.

I get such a sweet feeling when I think about his story.

That's more of a NDE rather than an OBE. The difference is that an OBE is linked to everyday life while an NDE occurs only near death. It has been suggested that the OBE is a way that the body practices dying, I for one find no real evidence in that but throw it out there all the same.

The body has to practice dying. That's new to me, but interesting.

Yes it's just another word realy. Astral travel mostly the ocult version of controled OBEs. Most OBEs by nature are non induced and occur spontaneously. Also closely related but defined seperate would be remote viewing.

For a long time I got the terms OBE and NDE confused. What I experienced - I think - was an NDE:

July 7, 2002.

It was two weeks before my sister's wedding. I had left the office about 4:30 PM. The next thing I recall is coming round lying in a road with an ambulance beside me. It was after 5 PM. I was not aware at the time that I had been in a road traffic accident. The event was 'pieced together' for me by the paramedics and the police later in A & E. What I experienced was this:

Everything went dark. It was like being in space, but without stars. There was no sound. I couldn't work out if I was standing or floating. I was alone. Suddenly I saw a point of white light. Whether it grew, came towards me, or I went towards it, I couldn't tell. The light was intense with a bright golden 'centre'. Within this was a hazy 'form' [or 'forms']. I heard what sounded like a voice with an echo. Or two voices talking in unison. It [or they] told me everything would be just fine. It was then I came to on the road.

The male paramedic, it turned out, had been at school with me. I lost touch with him after I left. It was the first time I'd seen him in over a decade! It was surreal talking over our school days on the way to hospital... .

Yes that's a NDE.
The strangest darkness you will ever be in, it's hard to escribe the dark your in. I have also heard. "it was dark but it was still light like the dark was light." Did you also note the feeling of calm and familiarity while you were there or did you panic and snap back into your body?

Hi mrx3010. You are right, the darkness I encountered was the 'strangest' kind. It wasn't simply like a night in a really rural area [away from urban light pollution], as you can see myriad stars. And space is not dark either - it's got so much matter in it! This was an absence of everything.

It reminds me of the opening of the Book of Genesis before God issued that first command about light. And for me too the 'light' just appeared, seemingly from nowhere. I was more than calm. I was completely detached. And felt nothing really at first. Yet I was relieved when the light appeared. And had even more hope when I heard the voice[s] telling me all would be OK.

I'm not certainly how I got back 'into to my body'. I just recall coming to in the road, and seeing the ambulance.

That was quite interesting. Didn't you even feel the physical pain in the accident?

Hi Rohitas. I didn't feel any pain at all. In fact don't recall the car hitting me. As I said, between leaving the office and coming round my 'world' was that weird darkness, the light, and the voice[s]... . Throughout I felt nothing but an eerie peace and tranquility, the like of which I'd never experienced before.

The ice cream store and school are typical locations where girls and guys meet each other. The green bush could fall in the same category, with more interesting implications. "Hide and Seek" is a good metaphor for the whole frustrating process of looking for a romantic relationship, and hoping you find some guy who is looking for the same thing.

Put all these factors together, and I suspect your subconscious mind chose a random guy to represent exactly that - a mysterious unknown guy who will be looking for you in the same way you are looking for him. It's a lovely dream. And I do hope you find that sweet smile someday soon. (But please stay out of the bushes.)

I had them almost every night in my first apartment then after a year I moved and in my new apartment It only happened two times in the year and a half i was there, and strangely enough they were two days in a row. Now that Im in another apartment they are happening more often again. Now my girlfriend recognizes when its happening to me because the yells for help come out like mumbles and twitches. I think study needs to be done with multiple people having OBE’s in the same room, can our spirits communicate? can seeing a familiar person in your experience help us from feeling scared. Lets figure out exactly what is going on.

I'd be inclined to say OOB's are merely lucid dreaming. NDE's are a slightly different matter but essentially both are not supernatural and merely different aspects of brain physiology.

But it was the favor of heaven authority granted to you to understand some issue.
try to enjoy the event, you re not alone, convince your self to watch and remember every detail in it, because it was telling you some information.
