Had one when I was first married.
At the time I didn't realize you could buy crickets at the pet store.
So I would hunt in the garden at night with a flashlight looking for bugs for him.

It was a Tarantula. Just a small thing when it was found.
Had him for maybe 6 months or so then he died.

It was a Tarantula we found while camping.
I've seen the pink toe ones, they are pretty.
I know, you wouldn't normally think a spider is pretty would you? Laughing

A good friend is stationed in Iraq, they call them Camel Spiders.

Look them up on the net, pretty interesting. There are even stories from Soldiers who have had encounters with them.

There are allot of myths about them, better to read up on the truth of these critters.

I've found an intresting article 'bout the Camel spiders It's written in dutch so I won't post it here, but it says the spider you can see on the picture is not an Camel spider! The Camel spider looks very diffrent and can grow only to 12 cm (I don't now how many inch that is?)
The spiders (there are two in the picture) are of unknown origin uptill now!

http://www.camelspiders.net/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camel_spider

The Camel spider is not a true spider.
These two sites have quite a bit information.

It is isn't it?
In the Southwest states of the US I've seen a "spider" similar to the ones in the photo.

They called them Vinegaroon Spiders.
It too is not a spider.

I've seen on YouTube some footage of both the Camel Spider and the Vinegaroon.

Interesting to say the least.
