The Grocery Store Haunting. in the year 1980

While working for a large grocery chain between the years 1980 and 1981.I was promoted to manager of their Conwy grocery store and it was not long after being moved there that things started going missing at first i believed that the staff working for me were hiding items but I was soon to find out the real reason.

I had only been there for about two months when I discovered that the building was supposedly haunted, this came about after I remarked to a member of staff that no matter how much I blocked the back door with draft excluders it was always very cold in one spot near the door. I remember saying it was so cold as too make the hairs on the back of your neck stick up and thats when she told me about the old lady who had died in that very spot years before the building had been converted into a shop.

Now dont ask me why as I really dont know but I reckon that I must of have made a joke about the old lady because after that day things started to really get crazy.

When I would be alone in the building due to before opening, lunch time or after closing the atmosphere there would be electric and although she did not show herself to me at that time, she wanted to let me know she was there.

No matter what I was doing or where in the building I was doing it everyday at least once I would hear a cracking type of sound and then as I looked around to see what it was I would be chilled to the bone momentarily as if she had just walked through me.

Also a large knife I used for cutting the ropes off of the cages would frequently fly across the room and embed itself into a door or crate in the storeroom.

When down in the cellar boneing bacon or cutting blocks of cheese I would have to be quickly in and out of the walk in cold room or else she would shut me in it, which believe me is not much fun.

Then one day when I was in the storeroom alone she materialized right next to me and she looked like a white mist vaguely in the shape of a old lady.

She touched me first on my hand then up on to my arm and both places she touched me became as cold as ice. At this point petrified I ran out of the storeroom and into the shop and stood by the front door until the staff came back from their lunch breaks. Then while acompanied I went into my office and phoned the area manager and resigned.

I think that is the scariest story I 've heard. She acctually touched you? Wow!!!

You definitely lasted longer at that job then I would have.

Yeah, I dont know about you, but next time, quit sooner. I would have found another job the next day I started having those types of experiences

hmmmmmmmmmm...........why didn't you tell her to leave, or knock it off? that's what i tell the young girl who screams in my home.......sometimes she turns on the vaccum sweeper or she turns lights off and on........when i get tired of it, I tell her...............

Yes, exactly. That's what I do in my house...just tell them to stop if they're being too noisy. Flying cutlery, though, does not sound like a ghost. That sounds like a poltergeist, and not a nice one at that.

Regardless, that place needs a Cleansing big time. Very Happy

What exactly is a cleansing?
Is it an exorcism of sort? Confused

A Cleansing is just what it sounds like...a spiritual cleaning of the home. Usually people do a Cleansing when they move into a new place, to help sweep the spiritual cobwebs away, and start things off on a happy foot.

Occasionally I'll be asked to do a Clenasing when the Spirit that occupies a home is being too 'scary'. That's more of a communication thing, helping them to live in harmony or helping the Spirit to move on. Often times what people interpret as negative is really just the SPirit tellus us inthe only way he/she knows how that they are there, and need our help.

'Exorcism' is not a word I recognise in my Spiritual Practise as it's Christian, and I am not. It also focuses on the negative, and not thep ositive. Everythign I do is from a positive perspective. Smile

As far the Cleansing Ritual itself goes, there are many varying forms. The one I do is rather Shamanic in nature, as I'm mixed blood Native, and was raised with that aspect. Others do a more Wiccan type cleansing, still others a more Eastern/Hindu type..it's all relative to the home and the home owner and the Spirit.

Xena, during any of your Cleansing Rituals has a spirit ever communicated with you or have they been physical?
Are some more stuborn than others?

I'm not a psychic, so I don't get "spoken to" unless that's what my goal is (I do something very specific for that). During cleansings, it's more of a feeling of peace than anything else.

I don't view Spirits as stubborn or negative. I view them as that space was theirs first. They haven't moved out yet. Smile

Occasionally you'll get a spirit who doesn't want to listen and doesn't wish to leave, and so then I try to just make it as easy for both parties as possible. I don't believe in forcing spirits out, but I do want the living and those in the spirit world to co-exist as peacefully as possible.

If there is a nastie (a truly negative spirit/daemon, which is VERY rare) I teach those living in the house how to block it's influences and I try another Ritual that is a step up from a cleansing.

Some spirits just don't want to move on, and it's very hard to make them.
