Hi everyone, I have just signed up to this forum as my girlfriend and I have had a few weird things going on and wanted to know what people thought about them. I was in to ghosts a lot when I was younger but lost interest during my teenage years etc. I am now 29 and was thinking earlier in the week how I would like to start reading about paranormal activity again as I find it fascinating.

Anyway, what has been going on in our house? Well not much ghost wise since we moved in, in December 2007. We have a cat and generally he is pretty insane. He always wakes us up during the night, pretty much every night infact. We started to notice one or two months ago that it was always happening between 4.15 and 4.30am. As it happened more and more we started to speculate that something was waking him up, but we have no idea what it could be. He sleeps on the end of our bed by the way. There is no electrical appliance or anything like that which would wake him. We started to wonder then if we had a ghost! We are almost certain that the lady before the person we purchased the property off died in the house.

Now, what caused me to write this is that last night I went out with some friends and got very drunk, came home, passed out on the sofa, which I never usually do, I always sleep in my bed. According to my girlfriend, I came upstairs and went to the toilet...at 4.15am. I think I got home at roughly 1.30, so either coincidentally woke up at 4.15, or was woken by something. Then this morning, we went downstairs to the living room and there were two large puddles of water there. Immediately thinking maybe I had spilt some water, my girlfriend quizzed me on this. But I can guarantee I did not drink any water when I got home and there were no glasses out. Also, the only other water in the room is in a vase but the vase was still full, and the puddles consisted of a significant amount of water. We thought possibly it could have been the cat urinating on the floor, which he never ever has done before, but it didn't smell of wee. It didn't really smell of anything. The puddles were not close to the French windows or a radiator. There are no leaks either in the ceiling. We just have absolutely no explaination whatsoever for them and we are really quite spooked. To make us even more spooked out, we got home this afternoon from a lunch out and there was a smaller puddle of water in the bathroom, and this was not there when we left. This time it smelt of old water. Again it was not close to a radiator at all, and there are no leaks. It's just so strange. Maybe relevant, maybe not...but yesterday morning our cat woke us up at 8am howling and howling in the hallway. As I said above he is pretty insane most of the time and he is very, very vocal. But in the three years we have had him I have never heard him cry like yesterday morning. I am not exaggerating to make it sound eerie, we said at the time before any of the puddles etc that it was a horrible and unusual noise he was making.

So I have no idea whether we are living in a haunted house, but we are really not sure what is going on. Any thoughts on this at all would be hugely appreciated. If there was a spirit or polterguist, why would they have started this 'actuvity' now? One final thing was that we came home the other day and the TV was on. We never leave the TV on and would have noticed when we left that morning. However this is entirely explainable and maybe not relevant, maybe we did leave it on for some reason that morning.

Thanks

Jamie

It does sound odd but i would look at rational things before you start thinking it's paranormal . I'm not saying it's not paranormal but do you remember exactly what you did when you came home drunk & was the tv remote jammed somewhere where the tv could have possibly been switched on etc

How can you be almost certain that a lady died in the house?

My cat is up every morning when i come in from work, usually leaving a present in her litter tray, around 6:30 / 6:45.
Just bear in mind, like people, im sure animals can have pretty regular sleeping patterns, its not uncommon for cats especially, to have a nap, wake up and have a "mad half hour" pretty much on a clock work basis. Perhaps the cat woke you at his regular time?

Perhaps there could of been a moth in your house or a spider and he was howling at that, mine goes stupid at the sight of a spider.

As for the water on the floor, was there a patch on the ceiling? perhaps a leaky pipe.

Depending on how much you drunk, and your ability to control your bladder in such a drunken state(please dont take offence), it is possible for urine to have no smell or colour to it what so ever, more so on occasions of excessive drinking either alcoholic beverages or not.

Perhaps you have a leaky pipe in the bathroom, or from above, water can trickle and pool into a puddle, and the "trail" can evaporate giving the wrong impression.

You could have a hole in the roof and rain is getting through. You need to eliminate any probable causes, but in the meantime i wouldnt worry to much.

Gav Night and Carlos make very good points. Look at these first - properly then if you don't think they're not covering all your paranormal bases come back and tell us why.
