Ok I got it yesterday and I am amazed at the functionality. It's a bit like a Swiss army knife of EVP research instrumentation. It can do a lot. Has 3 mics, two for L and R and one front. Has an adjustable sample rate, and audio frequency sweep. Can record below 15htz, variable recording gain, a visual frequency indicator, real time review of EVPs. Date and time stamp of every session. Plus a ton more, i will test it out this weekend and get a review up on our main page about it. For now here is a bit of info on it.

Ok the G.W.R.I.P team knows I had to buy this thing, after waiting months it arrived yesterday. So I took it over to the shop this morning for a quick test. This is not the official test, I wanted to do it somewhere else but I needed to familiarize myself with all the functions it has so I decided to give it a shot.

Within 1 minute I recorded this session.

The original EVP from December talking about the temp

You be the judge, I'm still experimenting LOL.

For those who do not know, when we were conducting an EVP experiment in this building several months ago we recorded an EVP talking about the temperature as we were watching it drop. If there are ghosts here I think they have a sense of humor :)

hey, Would you say that the device is worth the money?

Does the group it self build the device? or is it a company what passes them the device.

Would it be easy to build your own?

tell me your thoughts :)
cheers

The only way anyone is going to build something like this is to be an electrical engineer. The list of features is amazing. No that group does not build the device, it is built by DAS Enterprises and distributed through Pro_Measure, the Co who makes the MEL meters and E-Field Pods. It is IMO a top notch piece of equipment. I was going to buy a ZOOM H2 before this came out, and for close to the same amount I got more features and a lot of options instead of just one record mode. Is it worth the money? I don't know, most high end audio recording devices carry a heavy price and as far as I have seen so far this thing holds it's own quality wise to the H2.
More tests are planned.

That looks like a cool bit of kit ! Ive just bought a Zoom h2.. 360 degree recording with 4 mics. Very impressive results and wav files at 24bit. Then I process the EVP myself. Thats the only thing Im not over joyed about with RT-EVP, does it do the processing for you ? only could you trust it to mix the results properly ? Maybe Im just old fashioned lol.
Can you let me know thankyou. And isn't this just a fancy recordable ghost box ? It may not thrash through radio frequencys, but it sure takes the surrounding sounds and puts it into a chip generated format. Ill wait till you've all tried it before I rush out. Just make sure this little gadget aint tellin you what you want to hear ! ..Ill stick with my h2 and Ill take a medium to talk for me lol. (Won't that thing put psychic's out of buisness ?) Very Happy

Actually I don't really use the ghostbox mode that much but I like the option as I want to conduct a series of tests with random generation, sweeps etc. The recording quality is equal if not better than the H2. It uses special miles that have not been utilized in this manner before. Frequency responses are quite amazing. The samples I have posted are watered down MP3s the original wav files are quite large and far more detailed in quality. I'm still working on getting that video demo finished I'm just too busy at the moment :)

Im considering aquiring one atualy. I figure if I use the zoom h2, my Panasonic's and the RT-EVP, along with the mics on my camera's. Then if anything is said and recorded, I can check my time line of the investigation and aquire different versions of the event at different frequencys through all audio formats. Sounds like a plan. The RT-EVP may indeed end up being my friend. Thankyou for the introduction.
