Hi everyone,

Bit of a weird one this. My car was bought from new and has no previous owners, I've not killed anyone in it either :) Or know of anyone I've had as a passenger who's died.

Anyways, last night my sister who has seen spirits before, told me that she saw a figure in my passenger seat last night. Not so much a body, just a face, which she couldn't make out. But definately somebody there.

My car was parked outside my house and locked, and obv nobody there.

Anybody got any ideas on what this could be/mean?

Thanks for the reply flossy, I've never felt anything in the car myself, but I've never seen or felt anything to do with spirits before either.

My sister has seen a few spirits (once with 3 other people there, who saw it too)
- She has also had experiences with something pulling back her bed covers and attacking her, and also with black shapes walking about and passing through her and then vanishing.

She also saw an apiration on holiday once in jamica, with some other people who was there too, who saw a flash of light/smoke appear briefly on a beach behind someone a group of people was talking too. So she seems to have the gift of seeing things and isnt the type to mistake things either.

Just thought it was weird.

Hi evets,

Maybe it's just your sister. You know her better than us. I certainly don't know enough about her to pass an opinion but I'd suggest she's probably not seeing ghosts and as Flossy suggests probably mistaking natural events for spirits.

Seriously DB you wouldnt believe in ghosts if one kicked you up the arse.

I cant say if this is true either because I dont know this mans sister.

But I do know ghosts exist, I saw one when I was very young, and a few people close to me have seen several ghosts. I have heard lots of stories that I would not be sure about, but a few that I believe 100%. The one I saw was the shape and size of a person - it was a blurry blue colour though, not solid and not opaque. I was standing in the hall in my house and I watched it walk into my bedroom. I ran away scared. It definately wasnt threatening in any way and I think it was aware of me, but I cant be sure because it was so long ago. I think it was one of my great grandparents who died long before I was born, but that was their house when they were alive. I also dont know if it was a man or woman, but I think a man.

DB you should get a list of the most haunted places in the UK and start going around them and maybe youll see something. Stay in haunted inns and hotels etc... Start of with Edinburgh - the vaults and greyfriars. If I had never ever seen anything I wouldnt be sure either.

You know me that well do you?.

I cant say if this is true either because I dont know this mans sister.

So, like me, you don't know.

But I do know ghosts exist, I saw one when I was very young, and a few people close to me have seen several ghosts.
Oh right, so that settles it then. You're right and science is wrong - nice one, debate over - ghosts exist because you and your mates say so.

The one I saw was the shape and size of a person - it was a blurry blue colour though, not solid and not opaque.
but I cant be sure because it was so long ago.
Well said, my point exactly.

DB you should get a list of the most haunted places in the UK and start going around them and maybe youll see something.
I've done that already. I've been investigating ghosts for the last 30 years both in the field and by reading.

Start of with Edinburgh - the vaults and greyfriars. If I had never ever seen anything I wouldnt be sure either.
Ever heard of the phrase 'teaching Grandma to suck eggs?'.

Thanks for your suggestions. Despite my slightly sarcastic replies I do appreciate your advice but I have been there, done the investigations, read the books and have gone from believer to sceptic over a period of 35 years.

I think some people are 'sensitives'. Im not. I am normal, meaning I might see the odd thing, but I think you are the opposite end of the spectrum - the opposite of a 'sensitive'. You are like a robot and will never see anything.

I know what I saw so I know spirits exist - if after 35 years researching and never seen anything I understand why you dont believe 100%. Im not trying to prove ghosts exist - I was only telling my experience.

I actually believe the majority of 'proof' and stuff etc is rubbish. evp, orbs etc all a load of pish. Also people on drugs or drink etc probably hallucinate. Like the Irish years ago used to drink poteen 100% alchohol and on the way home from the pub would see the fairies.

But because when I was a child I seen a spirit, not a trick of light or smoke or drugs/drink/hallucination or anything else.

It's great DB posts, every good paranormal outfit needs a skeptic like DB to sort out the chif from the chaf so to speak.

I am a beleiver myself though and beleive I will be able to prouduce some solid evidence of light entities pretty soon.

I actually do prefer the likes of DB to some of these tits you see on ghost hunting shows, where nothing happens but they get all excited about their equipment going haywire etc...

I am planning to go around haunted locations in the UK with a few mates, but all I will bring will be camera +/or video recorder, stay for a few days and nights, definately wont expect something everytime.

Hopefully see something, or see objects move by themselves, or even hear something. But I wont be trying to prove anything scientifically.

I think DB at some point came across something bad - something that wanted to harm. I think he doesnt want to believe in anything, so he feels safe. My friend was a devout catholic - she watched the exorcist one night and it completely freaked her out, she had to sleep with the lights on for a long time etc... - she told me a few years later about it - this was someone who prayed a lot, never missed mass etc... - she explained that she decided not to believe in God or anything supernatural/paranormal, she told herself its all a load of shit and basically became an aethiest, she didnt want to believe in God and angels etc, because if they existed then so does the devil and demons.
Maybe DB just doesnt want to believe - I think you can convince yourself. a

Sounds like fun thecactus, a camera should be enough.
Must admit though, during a paranormal experience it's hard to remember to do anything atal what with all the adrenelin.
Good luck getting something.
I may well be off for a drive tonite, there is an old burntdown church nearby and I want to investigate after dark with a torch.

Exorsist is a pretty scary film, it's always been on my list of top nothch, dam scary horrors.
Just think how shocking that must have been back in the late 70's.
Well theres the prof of the pudding with your freind turning atheist.

D B Sweeney, Agentscott,
For me the investigations shouldnt be about proving anything to anyone else - if you are there and you witness something you knowits real - but like I was watching ghost hunters yesterday, they were in the shining hotel, and the guy was lying on the bed and the glass on the bedside cabinet just broke - but watching that we dont know if its real or just trying to get viewers. Its all about personal experiences. But yeah what an adrenaline rush. Your going to that burnt out church after dark on your own? you got balls - if you seen something would you jump in the car or stay? Shocked

Personal experiences count overall yes but wouldn't it be great to get solid evidence of the paranormal and be the one who obtained the footage.

Must admit though even video eveidence doesn't do much good thesedays as people would most probobly assume I had faked the footage. I must try as I have a good opertunity. Have you read my strange lights post?

I got to the church lastnight at around half one but but I paniced as soon as I got out of the car, I made it to the arched entrance and poked my head in, caught one look at the pulpit area and heard a screatch nearby, it probobly was an animal but It was enough to send me on my way.

If I had seen something I think I would have frooze with a huge adrenelin rush.

I will be going back with a freind next week so that shouldn't be to bad. I

Very Happy Thanks Cactus, that means a lot.

I am planning to go around haunted locations in the UK with a few mates, but all I will bring will be camera +/or video recorder, stay for a few days and nights, definately wont expect something everytime.
Hope you give us a full report.

I think DB at some point came across something bad - something that wanted to harm.
I'm not aware of that happening.

I think he doesnt want to believe in anything, so he feels safe.
I believe in lot's of strange things but ghosts I'm sceptical on since I've not seen any compelling evidence for their existence and that's not without looking either Smile .

Maybe DB just doesnt want to believe
I'm like Agent Mulder - I want to believe but I've not seen anything that would change my scepticism yet. It will take more than anecdotes, 'feelings' and blurry pics.

she didnt want to believe in God and angels etc, because if they existed then so does the devil and demons.
If you're still in touch tell her none of the above exist...probably Wink

I think you can convince yourself
Excellent point to finish on. People convince themselves that they're seeing ghosts all the time. 'Believing is seeing' for a lot of people.
