Today my mother decided to take picture of a blossoming crab apple tree in her garden. Being unable to open the window to the required angle, she just took the picture through the glass to see what would happen. As one would expect, the picture was full of her reflection and so she wanted to delete it. Not knowing how to do so, upon my arrival she asked me to do it for her.
Upon examining the picture I remarked that many would call this a 'ghost photo', which prompted her to re-appraise it.
You can see clearly the camera strap hanging as two loops, due to the way the camera was held in portrait position to get the shot.
I don't think I need to highlight the grey anomaly that fills the picture, which without taxing my imagination depicts a very convincing profile of my father in his final decline, almost a decade ago.
We've all seen this sort of thing before but it's interesting to have one's own example.
The image is reduced as the original size actually makes the image less discernible.

Well if I hadn't considered it to be perfectly clear I would not have mentioned it. Here's a dumbed-down version with the outline 'outlined'. Try reducing the size which actually makes it more distinct.

Can you publish the full pic please. I'm not seeing anything other than a vague reflection in a window.

Thanks

That is the full picture just reduced in size. The full size makes nothing any clearer although I suppose I may go and retrieve it at some point. The outline that I highlighted in the second picture is no way that of my mother's person who is of only slight stature, and her own profile can be discerned to be much smaller than that of the grey figure.

I saw the grey figure immediately on a camera screen, so for me it's incredible that anyone can't resolve it at a much larger scale even after being highlighted.

The leftmost part of the figure forms what I take to be an arm in a very loose-fitting sleeve, which is entirely consistent with the hospital-type pyjama gown garment that my father was wearing at the time of his body's death. What for me makes the depiction of the garment more credible, is that in the days between the death and the cremation, my mother reported a clear sighting of the figure of my father walking through her house and dressed in the same way.

Inn Spectre,
Here's a dumbed-down version with the outline 'outlined'.
Its not dumbed down you have just highlighted the reflection of the person who took the camera as i saw it - although talking of dumb, I thought you were retarded or something when I saw the size of your writing.

The outline that I highlighted in the second picture is no way that of my mother's person who is of only slight stature, and her own profile can be discerned to be much smaller than that of the grey figure.
It maybe would have been helpful if u mentioned that earlier.

I saw the grey figure immediately on a camera screen, so for me it's incredible that anyone can't resolve it at a much larger scale even after being highlighted.
Nobody said they couldn't see the grey figure - people just assumed that was the individual who took the photograph.

Probably nothing more than pareidolia. Your grey figure is likely just an indistinct reflection.

From you that was almost inevitable. There's nothing there that could cause a reflection of such clear definition.

Here's the result of colour removal and other effects:

I can't work out which bit of the reflection is your mum Iain. If I can't extrapolate your mum from what you claim is the anomaly then I'm just looking at an indistinct reflection from my perspective.
I disagree - it's not a clear at all. The outline is vague for a start and you're building an outline with your imagination - it's the way the brain works.

The nature of a photo like this is that different people will see different things. I can see an alien in there with breathing tubes.
