In rural India, water in a pot is used to catch the ghost. Sound is made using a hollow bamboo stick to call the spirits and let inside the water pot and closed. This is a common practice.

The rural indians believe they've caught a ghost in a pot but what they've really got is a pot of water and a head full of superstitious belief.

Cant all camera's see IR light? Phone camera's can, you can use them to check your TV remote is working and if security cameras, with IR lamps are on.

As for the IR beam kit, £20 from maplins? buy the kit for £8.99 and make it your self.

A little pointless dont you think.

Considering that "spirits" take on a transparent appearance wouldnt the IR light pass threw them, thus not setting off the alarm?

Ah but if they was ghost it drain batteries in IR Beam units and when the beam units batteries going drained the alarm sets off.

also possibility for ghost contact ask them to cross beam set alarm. or even talk through beam unit.

Have you been smoking crack?

Do all ghosts drain batteries?
Only if the transmitters battery is dead or drained, would the alarm be sounded.

Majority of ghosts would appear to be in a transparent state, as above, how could they set off an alarm by passing through the IR beam?

How would a spirit talk through a beam unit? By sounding the alarm buzzer? Sorry but my understanding of beeps and morse code is a little rusty.

Youd want to hear a voice, not R2D2's grandfather.

Like I have said before - I believe ''ghost hunting'' is a waste of time - if you want an experience go and stay in a few reportedly haunted hotels/b+bs and if you are lucky you may have a ghostly encounter, and if you are going to bring any ''equipment'', a simple camera/recorder is all you need.
