An aftermarket fuel economy device is a device sold on the aftermarket that claims to improve the fuel economy and possibly the fuel emissions of a vehicle. There are a large variety of devices sold under names such as "Platinum Gas Saver", "Tornado Fuel Saver", "Cyclone-Z", "Atomized Vapor Injector", or "Turbo-carb".

There are several different designs, but many are designed to fit on the intake or carburetor of a car and purportedly optimize air or fuel flow in some way. They are often sold via late-night infomercials, at prices ranging from $20 to over $100 each.

The US EPA is required to test many of these devices under Section 511 of the Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Savings Act, and to provide public reports on their efficacy. Most devices on the market are not found to improve fuel efficiency to any statistically measurable extent.

Many other reputable organizations such as the AAA and Consumer Reports have performed studies that have found similar results.

Urban legend
There is a related urban legend about an inventor who creates a 100 mpg (2.35L/100km) carburetor, but after demonstrating it for the major vehicle manufacturers, the inventor mysteriously disappears, in which he may have been killed by the government. The urban legend is thought to have started after Charles N. Pogue filed US Patent #1,750,354 for such a device. Though the legend has a basis in reality, it's unlikely that there has been a conspiracy to hide such an invention.

Well, i wouldn't be surprised, but the government would actually benefit from higher fuel economy, the people that would lose profit would be the petroleum industries, i heard a rumor about DMC, the guy who created the DeLorean created a fuel system that was very efficient, but was never able to mass produce it as he was indicted and jailed, another conspiracy, or just a rumor, maybe yes, maybe no, the truth is i don't know. but you also have the cars that work with water and others that wotk with alcohol in brasil, theres a lot of additional sources of fuel, but the oil companies will not allow them to surface, because that means they lose power and profit.

1.....SE Air Cleaner + Free Flowing Exhaust = More air in & more air out = MORE POWER....but MUST have injection remapped or it will run too lean and too hot...this means less engine life

2.....the factory recommends 1000 for the first service, it is BEST to do it at 500, then again at 2500 and every 2500 after that...........READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL!!!!!

3.....this question makes no sense!!!!

if you add the SE Air Cleaner & Free flowing exhaust, as I said above you HAVE to have the injection remapped!!!!....Stage 1 at minimum, read below for better info, below is clips from an answer to a similar question, it is regarding a Twin Cam Engine, the the principles on tuning and oil are the same............

You dont have to have the ecu remapped.

You can add a performance filter and "straight through" exhaust with no problems and experience an increase in power and fuel economy. But there is a fine line between economy and power, remaps are carried out when more power is a must and economy often suffers.
