The senior US military official who led the investigation into the supposed landing of a UFO in a Suffolk forest has spoken of the incident for the first time in three decades throwing doubt on the credibility of the claims that this was a genuine UFO/ET encounter.

I think there's a little more to it than that.

"We saw nothing that resembled Lt Col Halt's descriptions either in the sky or on the ground,"

"We had people in position to validate Halt's narrative, but none of them could."

Col Conrad said he interviewed the officer at the time and that, while he described seeing strange lights which had moved off into the distance, he had not mentioned touching a spacecraft.

He's casting very clear doubt on the validity of the testimonies that have been central tenets to this case for over 30 years. We also have to be clear that this man investigated the sightings AT THE TIME not years afterwards when the case became embroidered with faulty memories and biased embellishments.

Well if it was a real ET incident, then there WAS a coverup, and of course Halt's superior would say this as he would be part of the coverup/dissinformation, or maybe even the instigator - either way we will probably never know for sure if it was real or not. Also I haven't read about this case in detail so I am not very knowledgeable about it.

LOL, do you not see how much of a cop out it is to say, Halt's superior would say this as he would be part of the coverup/dissinformation and use that as a catch all excuse?. I see this used time and time again when anyone, especially from the Military/Government says anything that seems to refute UFO sightings. It's lazy and simply acts as a get out clause from having to look at the bigger picture and consider every angle of a story.

No offence Cactus Wink

No offence taken, but I said ''IF THERE WAS A COVERUP, HALTS SUPERIOR...''

Either way, some of the military personnel there that night say this was definite ETs and others say it wasn't - both sides are anecdotal - there was physical evidence too, but the sceptics dismissed it - as someone in the middle on this one there are good arguments on both sides, and I am not in a position to say it was real or not.

Quite right. The physical evidence amounted to a few Rabbit scrapes and some scratches on the trees - go into any similar sized forest of Sitka spruce and you'll see exactly the same things. Both sides do bring anecdotes and subjective opinions to the table for sure but it's up to the pro-ET camp to conclusively prove their claim due to the burden of proof. Unfortunately that's now never gonna happen unless more evidence such as film footage and photographs are presented.
