Openmindedness is a drink all on it's own, best drunk in small doses - dangerous if you consume too much, it leads to you seeing things that aren't really there Wink

A closed book is not a block of wood though Cactus. It's a book Rolling Eyes
totally different from a block of wood. It's like calling a car a lump of metal.
Having a closed mind doesn't achieve anything - being open to probability and possibility is at the heart of science.
Alternatively, believing everything that has a story attached to it or because it defies initial explanation is as bad as denying everything.

Not saying you do that though.

Very Happy

D B Sweeney,

A closed book is not a block of wood though Cactus. It's a book

It's a saying DB - not to be taken 100% literally, but when a book is closed, it essentially is a block of wood, much like a closed mind Very Happy

Personally I would say you are a little closed minded, no offence.

believing everything that has a story attached to it or because it defies initial explanation is as bad as denying everything.

Agreed Very Happy

It is probably best to be not too open nor closed minded; but just somewhere in the middle - find the balnce.

Show me a bookshop that sells blocks of wood and I'll show you a bookshop that has gone out of business Very Happy

It's best to be sceptical Cactus and evaluate all the available evidence before forming a conclusion.
How can I be closed minded if I'm open to believing in Ghosts and Aliens?.

Rolling Eyes

I've quickly picked four stories at random. The fact that I've done it within minutes and not had to search would suggest that these are indicative of my open minded beliefs.

Obviously there is the possibility that you both did witness extraterrestrial craft but the actual evidence that such things exist is close to zero.

You never know, maybe it is a ghost/poltergeist.

You could try a traditional Scottish breakfast for starters followed by a cardiac arrest Very Happy

It may be a poltergeist but I think the truth lies with the living not the dead.

Hi Carlos,

Definitely spooky, sounds like a variation of the urban legend about the phantom hitch hiker. Unfortunately we've got no way of establishing any further details so spooky story it will remain.

DB

Please tell me where there is any suggestion that I'm rabidly closed minded in any of the about random selections?.

The younger crowd here too also enjoy vodka and red bull.
Years ago I would drink cherry vodka and 7-Up.
