I'm pretty basic myself...my favourite tools are the really old fashioned ones. A pendulum and dowsing rods. That's pretty much all I use, and I get great results. My friend, on the other hand, can't make them work at all so she uses all the electronic gadgets. I'm a firm believer in that works for you is what works for you. Fancy isn't necessarily better. Very Happy

Xena, how do you use the dowsing rods?

I know we used them (dowsing rods) to find water or water lines and even electrical lines underground.

Sounds interesting!

You "tune" them for spiritual readings rather than water or electrical. Then you simply ask questions (often you don't have to move at all, just stand in one spot) and if it's a 'yes' the rods will cross, if a 'no' they will move away.

Xena, if I remember correctly you have been a witch since 1974?
How did you get interested in it?
Did you pick the Hellenic way or did it pick you?

Yup, that's right. Since 74. Smile

I was just a kid, really, and my favourite TV show was 'Bewitched'. I began researching real witches, and then came into contact with a local Coven. They allowed me to Apprentice, and the rest is history.

The Hellenic Path picked me, which is the way these things really work.
I began having very detailed and vivid dreams about Gods and GOddesses I didn't know anything about, really. Again I researched them, and as I did so I just knew that was the Path I was meant to take.

How long is the Apprenticeship?
Do you still belong to the same Coven, or did you start your own?
I mean, if you can start your own Coven.

Thanks Xena for taking time in answering my quetions.

Smile

Apprenticships vary from coven to coven, so there's not a set time limit. Mine lasted about a year, but then again I was a young teen, and not an adult. Adults (I think) moved through faster.

I moved two years from then, and now I even live in a different Country, so no, I don't belong to the same coven. I'm a Solitary Practitioner now. Yes, I can start my own coven, but there aren't any interested people in my area. Smile

Yes and yes Smile

It's not as concrete and fast as in books and movies, though. Sometimes a well done spell will take days, weeks or in some cases months to come to fruition.

Movie witchcraft is definately more flashy than the real thing. lol

yes, they work. I've had a few 'clunkers' over the years, but usually that was due to my own error.

Many things. Magick is a part of my daily life.

I've done a lot of Cleansings on people's homes, I've done spells for business and personal growth, and done healing work for myself and others.

Mostly I do monthly Ritual, magickal item cleansing and blessing, that sort of thing. I've helped friends find the job that suited them best.

Lots of things, really. It's not something I think about really, it's just part of who I am.
