Nearly everyone I know has 'played' with a Ouija board, be it as a bit of fun (not recommended) or seriously (still not recommended in my experience)
I have a few stories to tell, but first I would like to give my views and hear your views on this subject :)
I personally believe that the spirits that come through on the Ouija board are spirits in limbo. People who are not at rest, people who are not at peace.
I say this but I have a very, very weird story to tell and desperately would like your views...after I hear your own views/experiences of the Ouija. |

I believe the ouija is just a focus for our own abilities. A bit like a mediums equivalent of stabilisers. If there's something negative, could it be more likely the people who generally muck about with them, rather than the board itself? |

Quiji boards can also let spirits through that would not normally have a portal to do so and not all are good. I avoid them... |

i avoid them too. i wont even be in the same building if i know one is being used.
its opening the door to anything that happens to be passing.
i have seen far too many bad things regarding the door being open. even if the people are all serious and sensible or even brilliant mediums. its bad news.
somehow i dont feel the same with any other"tool", just the boards..

I've never used one myself. But, after seeing it done on TV programs, the Ouija Board seems as iffy as the ''knock once for yes, twice for no'' stereotype in seances. The tumbler on the Board I'm sure, can be as easily manipulated. So that the 'word' or 'message' can be whatever a person (or people) want it to. The 2006 TV adapation of Agatha Christie's The Sittaford Mystery shows how easily that can be done! (It's a load of fun, as all the actors really ham it up. So who care if it plays fast and loose with the book?) But if you are a 'purist', and want the original Christie plot, see:-

I think it works well. But sometimes, they won't answer for any reason of all. I had a ghost I was trying to contact, since it wouldn't leave me alone?
I found out later, that he didn't answer me, because of my roommate. He didn't trust him. |

I've never done a real Ouija board and now i never would, but back when i was in my early teens my friend and myself decided to make one. It was basically a wooden board with letters cut out taped onto it in a circle with a yes & no.
(We didn't know that they normally also have numbers, or a goodbye so didn't add one.)
We tried a few times and nothing happened apart from my friend purposely moving this glass we were using.
A few days later we decided to try again. We asked if there was a spirit present and the glass moved to yes. I really thought it was my friend, but he insisted that it moved by itself. So to prove he was lying i decided that i'd take my finger off the glass, but keep it above it and ask the spirit to spell out the name i was thinking of in my head. The name Elizabeth popped into my head and the next thing you knew the glass spelt out the first name word perfect. Thinking that my friend could have guessed the name or that me keeping my hand above the glass could have guided him, i put my hand to the side of the board, and asked the spirit to do the same thing again. Word perfect it spelt out the name Oliver. Getting a little freaked out, we decided to try it one last time, and once again it did the same thing this time spelling out Joey.
By now we were both a little freaked, neither of us knew anyone by the names of Elizabeth, Oliver or Joey, so for him to guess (or the board to spell out) all 3 accurately was definitely a little odd to say the least. Needless to say we told the board we were leaving and left the shed post-haste.
I can't remember anything negative happening after that, although myself, my brother, sister and cousin all saw two red lights that looked like eyes in the shed a few months later. I don't know if that was related at all but i will never do an Ouija board again. |
