I will start from the begining, I moved into my house in November 2002, Its a council house, It was just me and my daughter at first as every room needed work doing on it, so my daughter and I shared a bedroom at first it was just the alarm clock that kept getting altered which made my daughter late for school, i did not think anything of it at first, I thought there was something wrong with the clock so went and bought another one it still kept happening, my son came to live with me a few weeks after and he was sleeping on a futon in the front room, one weekend my daughter was staying at her aunties I went to stay the night on my friends boat, My son had his girlfriend stay over and in the early hours of the morning his girlfriend woke as she thought i had come home and gone in the kitchen and then I was sat at the bottom of there bed in the front room, it was not me as I was out, and on another occassion when the council were plastering down stairs my son had to sleep in the back bedroom on a mattress on the floor, there were boxes and sets of draws stacked up in the room, his girlfriend stayed over I was away from home with my daughter, they woke in the morning to find the draws had been taken out of the set of draws and had been placed round the mattress on the floor, It was not untill the council came to put me a new ceiling in the front room while talking to the council workers did I find out that the street was haunted, I looked it up its on ghost uk the street I live in is Wingates grove Westhoughton, I know what ever is happening does not happen here all the time as over 2 yrs went by before my sister saw something on the stairs, and then a couple of yrs ago my daughter was away I was not well my male friend stayed over and he was sleeping in my daughters room which used to be my sons room I was in my room I was just going off to sleep when I heard this screaming at the side of me it happened twice I dived out of bed went and woke my male friend up and told him that he had to come out of my daughters room and sleep in mine as i didn,t think they liked him being in there, then the next time anything happened was a friend of mine died and I woke up as I felt something touch my cheek and I new that my friend had passed and had come to say goodbye, then there was nothing untill November the 6th I woke to something walking round my bed I was petrified then all of a sudded this calm feeling came over me, I had to have my cat put to sleep two days before on the 4th November he was 19 yrs old I think this was him come to saw goodbye, Nothing else happened untill last week Friday the 19th Feb 2.30am I had fell asleep with the tv on in my bedroom I woke went to the toilet turned the tv off and got back in bed, i was layed there waiting to fall asleep when all of a sudden there was this strange wooshing sound it was very loud and then my bed started to shake, well I was terrified, I layed there pretending to be asleep I was too terrified to move,When it had stopped I must have stayed like that for about an hour before i plucked up the corrage to turn my lamp on had to get out of bed to my mattress straight I have a memory foam mattress topper its 3 inches thick and it was hanging off the bed about 7 inches. since this has happened I have had to sleep with my light on as I am terrified of it happening again, I was not asleep I was awake, I am 47yrs old I live with my 21yr old Daughter, why are they doing this has anyone any answers or do you know how I can stop this. |

I was wondering if you found your street online , you could try to get some history on the strret/area online too. You could also try asking whatever's in your house to leave, but this doesn't always work as one of our members recently found out, i think the activity only stopped for 1 night. |

Gav is right about asking it to leave however, I would try asking "whoever" it is (politely) asking if they would please leave you alone. I agree this does not always work however it is a starting point.
It seems that whoever is still there may just want to let you know it is there.
You could also ask "what can I do for you?"
If this does not work, time to move onto the next step but lets try the above first.
We can also find out if there is a Paranormal investigator(s) in your area who could come and help.
Keep us informed of your progress. |

I will try asking it to leave next time it comes, its just at the moment i am too frightened to sleep without my light on, its the first time it has ever shaken the bed, I think it just comes to visit but there could be more then one, the land our houses are built on was farm land with a barn built on it,, the story goes it was something to do with the manchester marters they was brought up to the barn and they was never seen again, the stoey of the goings on in one of the houses in the street is on ghost uk, I will keep you inrformed because i would like it not to be here. Forgot to tell you in my first post that if any of the council workers work on any of the houses they get briefed and paid extra money for it and that came from one of the inspectors that had seen what happened in one of the houses were things get moved and thrown he was in there with a women from the council when a spoon flew of the sink and stopped inches from a childs face and fell to the ground they both ran out the house. thankyou |

If the council know about the goings on in the street i wonder why they are putting tenants into the houses, i suppose they don't have to live there themselves so they don't care. I've been terrorised by a spirit myself and it's not nice in the slightest , but it wasn't in my own home though it was at my place of work. If it gets too much for you you could apply to be moved by the council since they seem to know what's going on in the street, it might be a good idea to put your name down for a move now as you don't have to move if they offer you another house and in the mean time you could try to get the activity to stop. |

Deborah, There could be bodies buried there - the spirits of those bodies could have been religious inife and might want a proper burial. Or someone could have been murdered and buried there and wants the body found. - pure guess
It doesnt seem malevolent anyway - dont sleep with your lights on, if you see it you se it, if something happens, it happens - maybe I should come and keep you company |

That explains what you use that Banana for . Between your women and YouTube you must be exhausted.
