That's probably what the horse was wondering! And came to investigate. Might've thought it was an overlarge horse box... . |

But it sounds like the horse had some sort of sense, animals do tend to recognize spirits more than humans.

There's no evidence unfortunately to verify that animals have some unique ability to see spirits. Think about it logically - what would be the advantage to them? Why would evolution give them an ability that is no use what so ever?. Animals certainly have better (and worse) senses than humans and may 'seem' like they're seeing or hearing things that we can't see but they're just reacting to sounds, sights and smells that we cannot pick up.

I slightly disagree, they are not humans so to be say a horse is a differnt experience and they have a differnt wasy of veiwing the world.
Bats see with sound ect imagin that so who knows what they will pick up on. |

Just answer this one simple question then - what is the purpose of evolution giving bats or horses or dogs the ability to see the spirits of the dead?.

Maybe it hasn't been given to them, it's just maybe they haven't 'lost it'. |

What?. Have you lost your ability to walk upright - no. Your ability to walk on two legs evolved over many millions of years in order to give you a better chance of survival. What benefits would the ability to see the dead convey to a horse or a dog?.

No benefits - when a horse or a dog would see a spirit, they would just think in their own way 'who gives a f*ck' - that wouldn't stop them from seeing them. |

Yeah right When my dogs see the Postman they go crazy, when they see the lady over the road who walks them they go crazy, when they see me after a shift at work they go crazy.
Why is the reaction(when they're allegedly supposed to be 'seeing' spirits) always a little less muted and usually amounts (in dogs) to nothing more than looking at some area of a room with cocked head or, at best, the odd bark at nothing?.

Animals may well sence things better than we do as they are in tune with nature more.
Our fast paced, there is no afterlife experience is all we know now so we may well have had potentual locked away, we only use a little of our brain so perhaps if we used it all we would be alot more spiritual. Third eye , shakra ect with the aditional brain power.
I read that no other species does not use all of it's brain????
Strange that.

Animals do sense certain things better than we do. Dogs have a massively superior sense of smell and hearing for example - in tune with nature...possibly but only from a relict hunting sense that has nothing whatsoever to do with ghosts.
'We only use a little of our brain' is a myth, as is 'the third eye' etc.
