Hi,
Very interesting website and thought you'd be interested in my ghost experiences.
I know they exist as i live with at least 2.... i moved to my home here in Scotland approx 12 years ago (born in Yorkshire, England) we live out in a very remote spot in a detached bungalow not your usual old haunted house but built in 1970's.
When we bought the house we still had our home in Yorkshire to sell so my wife stayed there until finally sold (2 months) i moved into the new house with our pet dog and set about decorating etc.
Not long after i arrived here our dog Penny wouldn't settle (normally a VERY calm chilled out dog) and would suddenly jump up and sit staring into empty rooms etc, at night i slept on a camp bed as furniture was down south. On the 1st night there i was woken up at 3am by Penny growling (she slept in a cage in bedroom for company) and then there was heavy footsteps walking down the corridor directly outside my bedroom door! i went to investigate and found no'one and all doors were locked so returned to bed but kept light on LoL.
This continued for most nights until i decided to sleep in the lounge in a deckchair with lights on. One night there was a very loud thud coming from what is now my office atthe far end of the corridor so i raced to the room and found nothing (the room was totally empty).
Very strange but i thought i must be hearing things in our strange new home so tried to ignore it.
Soon my wife finally moved in and although i was still hearing noises i kept it to myself to see if she heard anything 8-) didn't have to wait long though.
well that's all i can type for today as my eye's are tired but will continue tomorrow.
I would just like to add that this is 100% true and you are the 1st to hear about it (don't want people to think i'm mad LoL)
cheers

Hi,
Sorry its been so long since my 1st message but had few family probs (death+ health prob) but the fun and games are still happening.
I know what you mean about floorboards settling ect but only problem there is the floors are stone not wood .
I have tried the camcorder in various places but it seems our other residents are pretty canny and usually do stuff at the other end of the house.
My wife is spending more and more time at her fathers as i guess its unsettling for her but i have grown to accept what happens and basically try and ignore it.
Here's a little more about a couple of strange things that have happened here in recent years.
In 2003 i was having my outbuildings converted to a studio/workshop and had a small team of local builders doing the work. We had to go back to Yorkshire for a few days and while we were there the builder telephoned me to ask who was looking after the house in Scotland? I said no'one why? he replied that when drive up the farm track they could clearly see an old lady looking out of the window which is 12ft wide and no curtains (lovely view so no need for them) when i told him he said your joking? nope and when we returned he said he wouldn't be back to finish work!
Another thing was last year i was sat in the office which again has large window and desk/seat next to the window, all of a sudden there was an almighty thump on the sodding glass and i nearly jumped out of my skin there was no'one in sight and later the same day when the postie called my wife was standing at front door talking to them and they both saw a oak cabinet fall over in the hall (its 6ft tall and very heavy) the postie used to come in for a cuppa but after this she stays away.
I thought these things only happened in books/movies etc but never in a million years did i believe they could be real.
There has been so many things happen here you wouldn't believe it but i can assure you its totally true.
My father-in-law won't stay in our home and when he was ill recently he prefered to pay for private hospital rather than stay with us until he had recovered, the local farmer who's family we bought the house from once asked me what i thought of the house and do you think you will settle there? strange thing to say and i guess he has had experience of this place.
This isn't a creepy creaky haunted house as seen in Hammer Horror just our 70's Bungalow but it does seem to have a history which so far we haven't been able to get to the bottom.
I will keep you upto date on our "residents"
I mentioned at the start "health probs" that was actually myself who after putting my laptop down after my original message "fell" (i say i was pushed) through a glass door and ended up in hospital, i know i didn't fall and my wife was 20ft away and saw what happened and she agreed that i looked like i had been shoved in the back I'm not in the habit of falling over.
Oh well, again sorry for not replying sooner but i have to get myself in the right mood to talk about this as it does sound abit odd and sometimes wonder if we are going mad LOL
Cheerio for now
Happy New Year to everyone and maybe next year our home will calm down and we will get some peace

Not an unusual scenario. The world seems to be full of easily-scared builders. They ought to mention something about it on their training courses, and contracts should have a standard ghost-tolerance clause. |

maybe the building disturbed the spirits
they do say that happens
builder or not if anyone saw a ghost 9 times out of 10 they would be scared
did you see anything of the old lady when you returned |

Could that not have been a bird flying into the widow Hamish?.
