Everyone believes, they just give it a different name, come up with some theory to make it rational or whatever. But in some form or other they all believe. |

I am kind of in the middle. I have had a lot of interesting things happen to me in life but never really believe in actual ghosts. I cant argue anywhich way i am just kind of in the middle. But I do love scary movies and stories and of course consipiracy theories, always interesting stuff there |

i never used to believe in any of it, until i had my tarrot cards, palm and runs stones read. the medium i saw told me things only my family would know. i was totally gobsmacked. she also gave me a message from my grandad. everything she said was true. when she read my palm she said she could smell lavender on her hand after she had touched mine.(lavender was my nans fav smell). now i believe in it all alot more, as some of the things that were said have come true. |

This is a very general question - don't believe in what - the paranormal?
The paranormal has many facets - poltergeists, ghosts, voice phenomenon, ouija, mediums, psychics and much more.
Since it's in the Sceptics section I guess the original author of the topic wanted a debate that involved sceptics and 'believers'.
Here's my opinion. I believe in the paranormal but I don't believe it's paranormal. I think people on the whole believe what they want to believe and discount any evidence that looks like it will challenge those beliefs. Some people - mediums etc have a vested interest in maintaining those beliefs and fuelling the flames of belief in ghosts and communication with the dead.
Some phenomenon such as poltergeists certainly deserve much research because history has shown that we're dealing with a condition of the human mind that may offer conclusive proof of the ability of the brain to externalise (unintentionally) RSPK.
The question needs re-asking in a more specific way. IMO
