There is a small apartemnt complex which has 4 apartments. There is 1 apt. which was vacant for 10 yrs. But last week a middle aged lady moved in. I met her she the nice lady. Beginning of the last weekend she called my house and told me about some noises coming from the bathroom, she claimed that the lights were turing on/off by themselves and water in the sink was turning on and off by itself, cold spot in her bedroom, so went to her house to see whats up. When i got there everything was quiet like nothing happened, she's been calling me and my other neigbors they went there too-nothing happened. Today i went into her home i felt very cold in her living room (air conditioners and fans were not working) the temp outside was like 75 at 7 p.m. i asked other neighbors from 2 apartments who lived in that apt 10yrs ago they dont know because they lived in those apts for 2 yrs. All they told me they heard our new neighbor scream 3 nights in the row. But when i asked the tenants from 4 apt. about previous tenants, they looked at me in the weird way and told me mind my own business. In the forth apt there are elderly couple, they lived there for 20 yrs. I dont know whats going on, that couple must know something. Anybody can help? |

That does sound a bit nerve racking
You say that the apartment lay empty for ten years. Are you aware if they were trying to find tenants for it, or it was just purely left in a state of abandoment
I take it you are based in America? I know here in the Uk we have services which allow you to research all the previous tenants and history of buildings etc but I am not to sure how that work across the pond.
Is the entire building run or owned by the same landlord or corporation?
As far as trying to work out whats in the apartment, a lot of members would probably try recommending calling out to see any spirits response. Primarily need to understand that if there are spirits there they are merely in need of help someway or another. I must admit I am not th best one to give advice on the inital contact as I use communication as a last part of my investgaory process.
YB, Bitterbuck or Flossy would probably be able to help you there
Myself, normally go straight into setting up a camera and sound recorder of some sorts. Perhaps get your neighbour to do this and leave the apartment for a few hours, If nothing, Try again but staying in the apartment, just sit there and not doing anything. If you can clearly see or hear some activity then It may be worth either calling out or help someone in who you would feel more confident could do that for you |

Tell the lady next time this happens to just call out "please stop doing this, Thank you" It may be enough to get the spirit to settle down. Could be someone died there and just hasn't moved on. See if this lady is open to this suggestion. Keep us posted. |

here the update. I took off from work to day because they were fixing power cables at my job. So i went to nearest historical society which 5 mins away, they told me there was a cemetary that was demolished 36 yrs ago. The house is also 36 yrs old, it has 4 apts in there. the landlords are the elderly couple i told u earlier (no wonder why they told me to mind my own business). My building was built 3 1/2 years ago on the former cemetary as well, before it was a small forest. It has 6 apartments in there 3 bedrooms in each. But no one experinced anything so far.
Today me and some of my neighbors went to this lady for dinner, after some time the temp rapidly dropped, it was very cold. After 5 mins the temp got normal again. something going on there.
As for camera i dont think she'll buy a camera, so i'll take picks myself next week when i'll be on vacation from work. I'm 24 and till last week these kind of stuff never occured to me. |

Today she told me its been quiet at her house during weekend, but starting Monday she experienced cold and faucet in the bathroom were turning on again by themselves. I did take some pics, they were clean. i took like 20 shots. |

That's the problem with many rented places in Singapore. Owner is interested in 'money' but doesn't bother to take any responsibility.
You can talk to the owner to give back your deposit. If the owner is honest and understand your situation he/she may return your deposit. If there is any issue you can try small claims tribunal but trust me the law is more inclined to 'seller' i.e. in this case owner.
