The manager at work told me of this story, apparantly true.
This took place some 10 - 15 years ago to an ex employee.
We recieved the call to attend a lady who had broken down late one night, believe the car was a mk2 cavalier and no mobile phones back then so it was good old payphones.
Our truck was dispatched and eventually located her, introduced him self to the driver and smiled at the little girl in the back, the lady stayed in the car some what nervous, he opened the bonnet and after 5 min or so, it was decided the fault was "terminal"
Explained situation to member and suggested she and the little one jump into the truck and keep warm while he load the car and prepare for towing.
The woman then broke down in tears(our chap thought he had upset her some how) and told him quite hysterically that she doesnt have a child and when she returned to the car she had also seen the little girl in the back and hadnt moved since.
They both left the car were it stood. The owner refused to return to the car.
It could be a load of rubbish, or an incarnation of another story. |

I cant see him lying as we still do the same job and the company has been going for 30 year, so cant understand why he would tell a lie to un nerve drivers.

Hi Carlos,
Definitely spooky, sounds like a variation of the urban legend about the phantom hitch hiker. Unfortunately we've got no way of establishing any further details so spooky story it will remain.
