Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure where in the world you guys are from, but this urban legend relates to a place called Staffordshire, England.
There is a local legend that tells the story of a rich Earl who's horse & carriage was stopped one night by a traveller begging for money. He refused to give her money so she cursed him and said that every time a branch from the oak tree in nearby woodland fell, a member of his family would die.
A branch fell, and he lost a member of his family. So, he had the tree chained up to prevent this from happening again.
The tree actually exists (i've visited it myself) and is still chained (you can google for pictures of it, just search Chained Oak Staffordshire)
Anyway, just recently a local writer found a journal that was written years ago by someone who lived in the area nearby where the Chained Oak is located.
I don't know much about the journal itself, but I know that a paranormal investigator from Durham has asked to see this book and got very excited about it.
Reading between the lines, it appears that the Journal contains real events that make the current Chained Oak a little tame in comparison! And he is currently setting about to investigate this story, and release a film

I'm a local in this area, so I am more than happy to keep you updated if you like? |
