|
|
A conspiracy theory attempts to explain the ultimate cause of an event (usually a political, social, or historical event) as a secret, and often deceptive, plot by a covert alliance of powerful people or organizations rather than as an overt activity or as natural occurrence. Researchers who advocate the conspiratorial view claim that most major events in history have been dominated by conspirators who manipulate political happenings from behind the scenes.
The term "conspiracy theory" is usually used by mainstream scholars and in popular culture to identify a type of folklore similar to an urban legend, especially an explanatory narrative which is constructed with methodological flaws. The term is also used pejoratively to dismiss claims that are alleged by critics to be misconceived, paranoid, unfounded, outlandish, irrational, or otherwise unworthy of serious consideration. For example "Conspiracy nut" is used as a pejorative term. Some people who have their theory or speculation labeled a "conspiracy theory" reject the term as prejudicial. |

not everything can be brushed under the carpet guys.
the truth is, some people dare to venture into the depths of our countries most top secret missions, files and lives that at one time if we got to close to the truth some might simply dissapear or meet untimely deaths.
can it be proven ? some would say yes and theres a lot of evidence out there to support it, but...
how do you go up against something that is protected at any cost ?
as with many urban legends and folklore as mentioned above, these things usually are based on certain ellements of truth, just how far they MAY be blown out of proportion is down to your own beliefs and any research you can find to back any of this stuff up.
its out there if you dare to look xxx |

Good name Would you care to give us a few examples with some evidence or links? Maybe even tell us who met untimely deaths because they discovered something that they weren't supposed to or were going to blow the whistle?
Otherwise posts such as yours just perpetuate the conspiracy theory mythos because you can't and never back up your comments with any evidence however vague, false or tenuous.

Conspiracy theories are great for sheer entertainment value, they sure beat the hell out of the general medias current obsession for bland/banal output (in my opinion)
The thing about conspiracy theories is though that if any of them are true then you can bet that some government agency will have infiltrated that particular forum/discussion and steered it in the "right" direction.
One thing is true though, vast ammounts of money bring much power, the power to crush anything or anybody in the way...it's the way of the world! |
