Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to all of this and thought I should just post some basic background information first. Basically I'm a normal guy, 23, never really believed or disbelieved in ghosts. Although my experiences last night (the most vivid one so far to date on 4:00am on 13th October 2010) has led me to this forum as I'd really like your opinions on this.

I'll try to keep these stories short;

America (First experience remembered)
------------------------------------
Sleeping at my friends parents house in New York, woke up in the middle of the night to see a lady sat down at the corner of my bed. She was not clear and the room was unfamiliar to me. So naturally I put these down to an over-active imagination and never really thought about it again. (This was 2007 although I cant guarantee that without checking and don't think its really important)

Egypt (Second experience)
-------
Same as America, I am in Shark el Sheikh with my girlfriend. I wake up in the middle of the night and see a woman sat on the corner of my bed. Very clearly now, she is not see through (this is important for the next part), and I can see colours very clearly on her person (to the best of my recollection). My natural response is that somebody has broke into the room so I kick out at her which wakes up my girlfriend. By the time she is awake, the woman has vanished.

At this point I am 100% sure this was real and I definitely saw the woman

UK (Home)
---------

OK so this is the story that leads to my post. I woke up at exactly between 4:00-4:05am this morning and I look up and at the corner of my bed is sat a MAN (not a woman as the past two experiences). He is sat with his head in his hands, and is completely see through but I can make out his face and body perfectly. He was hunched over holding his head in his hands and then he sat up and held his chin with his right hand. He had a square jaw and looked tired.

I reached out to touch him with my foot and it simply went through his back at the lower left portion near his hip. I covered myself with my cover and stayed under there for a good 5-10 minutes. When i removed the cover, the man was gone and I turn over and go back to sleep and wake up in the morning with a perfect memory of everything that happened.

OK - Sorry these stories arent really interesting - but they both describe exactly what happened. Why is this happening to me? Why has it happened in Egypt, America and my Home with what I presume to be three different people.. OR at least one man and one woman on 2 separate occasions? I dont really want them to leave, but I'm also really scared of trying to communicate with them.

Why are they always at the corner of my bed either partially facing away or to the side (as the man was) and why was the woman "solid" but the man was transparent completely and I mean 100%?

Thanks for reading and I'm sorry for the length of this post. I'm not really looking for help as such, just answers and opinions.

P.S. I have two relatives that died, a gran and a grandad. Both of different sides of the family. Could this be them? They looked very much younger than I remember when they died (age 70) and the young man was really handsome with short hair, which my grandad was not.

Thank you.

Hi Bain,

Thanks for sharing your experiences. They are actually quite common and pretty much the same type of thing has happen to me several times throughout my life. The links below should explain your experiences although some on here may disagree Rolling Eyes

Hey DB,

Thanks for posting about my experience. The skeptic in me said straight away that any one of your reasons could be the cause for this occurrence, its really difficult though as I "knew" at the time that I was definitely awake. Especially weird as I remember thinking this last night at the same time as seeing the person on my bed.

But its so hard to believe especially after last night and the person I saw was so real, characteristics, movement, everything! I know the difference between being awake and dreaming though which is why I'm really sitting on the fence with this at the moment.

Since this forum is dedicated to the paranormal however, I'd like to hear other peoples theories on this. Everyone sees "orbs" or "shadows" but I saw a real (translucent) person sitting a foot away from me on my bed.. Maybe I'm just a mad man suffering from Hypnopompia and a bad case of self worth.. I mean, why sit on my bed?! Mr. Green

Cheers

When I saw what I thought I saw I was absolutely convinced it was real too - doesn't mean it was. The links are valid evidence based research that give a logical explanation that people have reported worldwide, it's widespread and well understood.
In over 30 years of study nearly everyone I've met who has had a paranormal experience has said 'but what I saw WAS real'. Dreams are real when you're dreaming and the transition between dreaming and waking is a strange borderland where the two states are vaguely interchangable.

Welcome to the forum Bain and thank-you for
sharing your experiences. I'm sure
it wasn't that easy to put these encounters down for all to see.

As Flossy suggested it could possibly be your
relatives. Have you spoke to any of your other
relatives on what you saw. As in asking what your Gran or Grandad looked like when they were younger?

You mentioned when you saw the woman the second
time you could see color could you also make out
the type of clothing she wore....what about the
gentleman?

Don't be discouraged Bain...as we may not have the
answers to your questions....... we do have our opinions
on the matter. (which we give freely)
Laughing Laughing

Keep investigating!!
