Hello,
One of the scariest moment for me was late at night. I was outside my apartment when I felt a strange feeling and rushed inside. When I closed the door I felt as if something had run into it, just as I closed the glass door.
Needless to say, I rushed inside picked up the phone and called my friends as I ran around turning on lights and calming myself down.

Jeez! I think I would have wet myself on that one!
Did you hear anything, or was it just the strange feeling you had?

I didn't think that I had had any scary moments until my Aunt reminded me of one.
On the weekends I would drive up and stay with my Aunt. She lives out in the desert on 45 acres. The nearest home is at least a mile or more away.
My Aunt was in town at the time running some errands and wouldn't be back until later that night. At the time she had 2 horses that I would help her with.
Like any other evening I went out to the corrals to pen up the horses and to put some feed out for them. Halfway to the corrals it went completely silent, not one sound. Nothing moved, even the breeze had stopped, it was as if I were in a vacuum.
I stopped in my tracks looking around and wondering what the heck was going on. Blackie's (our dog) fur was standing on end and he was growling staring at the corrals. At that moment pure fear came over me.
My mind said run but it took a minute for my legs to respond. Then like a bat out of hell I took off towards the house with Blackie in the lead. We both ran in house and I locked the door. Blackie stood near the door and kept growling with his hair still on end.
I couldn't bring myself to look out a window to see what was out there that gave me such a fear. Needless to say I stayed put until my Aunt came home.

How old were you at the time? Has your aunt ever reported such an encounter again?
Thanks for the story Bitterbuck

Lucky you had you're dog with you because at least you weren't alone. Did anything happen to the horses?

Hi Misty,
It was about 10 years ago, so I was in my thirties.
Come to think of it she did. It was allot similar to my experience. Every thing went still and then she heard the corral gate open then close. No one was in the area of the corral that she could see. I don't believe she got that feeling of fear over her.
My Aunt doesn't get scared like I do. She's pretty brave.

Hi whimps,
Yep, I'm glad Blackie was with me at the time. But when I saw how
Blackie started to growl and his hair raise I knew it was not my imagination at work. They say that animals have that extra sense.
When my Aunt returned home that evening, we both went out to check on the horses and to finish my chores. Both horses were fine. Thank-you for asking.

I'm suprized that your horses didn't get spooked and run off. I haven't really been around horses, but the movies make it seem that they scar at almost anything. |
