                                | I was watching a DVD. My nose was running so I paused it and got some tissue. While I was in the bathroom, I heard someone whimpering. It sounded like it was coming from the living room. I went in there and saw the plastic rose on my fireplace moving back and forth, like someone was playing with it. I kept looking at it. For at least three seconds it kept moving, and then it just stopped. I was so scared! After I composed myself, I touched the rose to see if it was cold to the touch, but it wasn't. It felt normal. | |

                                | Ironically, it was Most Haunted. I've got the box sets and watch them a lot and have never had anything paranormal occur when I've been watching them before. They don't scare me so am not putting it down to an overactive imagination. | |

                                | Do you know if Karl or Stuart ran in and "fixed" the evidence and then ran off again? Sorry, couldn't resist.
Is there a chimney with your fireplace? I'm thinking if a bleeze came down and caught the rose, it would move about until it settled again. Also thinking if the wind did come down the chimney, it creates a sound that could possibly be mistaken for whimpering.

Another explanation could be if you opened a door and created a vacuum or created a movement of air which caused the rose to move.

                                | Hi there all, well Evannah as a firm believer in the paranormal I would say perhaps that could be a spirit but try to rule out all the rational stuff yourself before saying yes it's a ghost. Maybe there was a draught or something and you heard next doors T.V, but...
Keep your eye on the flower for a while or perhaps try moving it to see if you get some reaction, also take a look at other stuff about that sort of time.
 Good luck

I always wondered who bought those.

 LOL!

Yes, but it's blocked off by a thick wooden panel. There usually isn't a breeze, but it was quite windy last night so I'm guessing that might be the culprit. The rose is such a flimsy little thing too, so anything could set it off.

I did run into the room pretty sharpish so it could be that too, though I wasn't anywhere near the rose at the time.
