Greetings Emma, welcome to the forums.. Poltergeists as I understand them are actually a manifestation of someones own fears that are really not spirits, go in like you would to any room not fearing anything.. remember, there is nothing to fear but fear itself. |

YB has the right idea there Emma.
I know that if it was happening to me, I would still be scared silly!
Good luck on your next visit to your friends home. |

Try not to show any fear. That is what it wants. |

hi emma,
i can understand your concern as this may appear very un nerving but please dont assume that it may be a poltergiest just because its calling out your name. i have had instances of this sort in my own home that you can read about on my forum hun where it was the spirit of a little girl calling on me for 3 weeks before she actually appeared to me.
people have terrible ideas of poltergiests and as some have said before, the activity can often be explained as something else, but unless you have had any other reason for asuming this may be a poltergiest activity, plz bare in mind, it may simply be a lost spirit trying to grab your attention for help or just to simply be noticed. good luck with it hun xxx |

i was told that if i ever heard things or felt spirits around me to ask them who they are. i know it sounds silly but try it. im sure you will be very suprised with the outcome. just remember a spirit wont hurt you at all. |

my nan used to say if you acknowledge that they are there then they leave you in peace, we used to do that in my mums old house and nothing happened for ages then things started to happen untill we acknowledged him again (charlie)we give him a name |

Must be comforting to you to know your Nan is around you all the time. |
